Shenzhou:

Shenzhou:
Two space experiments in a Chinese capsule in cooperation with the German Space Agency (DLR) and the Chinese Space Agency.
In one experiment the effects of weightlessness on Euglena gracilis will be determined. Therefore a sample will be fixed shortly after the launch and compared with a fixed sample, taken after four weeks in space.
Into the second experiment Euglena gracilis is the oxygen producer in a miniature life-support system. In that cigarette box sized experiment are two compartments divided by a membrane. At on size Euglena will produce oxygen for the fish (Danio rerio) on the other side. This experiment will be done with the help of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Wuhan.
Successful launch was on 01.11.2011!
Omegahab-B1:
It’s a life-support system like in Shenzhou but the experiment has a volume of around 4 liters and will be flown in the Russian satellite Bion-1. As oxygen producer will be used Euglena gracilis as well Ceratophyllum submersum. Consumers are Biomphalaria glabrata (snails), Hyella acteca (water fleas) and Oreochromis mosambicus (cichlids). They should feed later off H. acteca.
The system should run four weeks stable. Omegahab-B1 will be performed in cooperation with the University Stuttgart-Hohenheim.
Launch was on 19.04.2013!
And many more before!
